What are Disch towels made from, exactly?
Every Disch towel starts as post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. They’re collected, cleaned, crushed into chips, spun into yarn, and then woven into our custom DischWeave fabric. The result? Towels that dry fast, feel great in your hands, and actually work — all while giving plastic waste a second life.
Why isn’t my towel’s design perfectly straight?
Each towel is manually printed, and subtle shifts can happen during our hands-on process — especially with stripe-heavy designs. It’s a byproduct of working with real materials, real heat, and real people. The function? Flawless. The finish? Honestly, a little human. And we like it that way.
Are Disch towels safe to use around food?
Absolutely. Our towels are non-toxic, BPA-free, and printed with food-safe dyes. Use them confidently for drying dishes, wiping counters, or even covering dough — whatever your kitchen routine demands.
Do you have certification proof of your sustainability claims?
We do. Our manufacturing partners are certified by OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Global Recycling Standards (GRS), and Textile Certification (TC). Real standards. No greenwashing.
The colour looks a bit different than it did online — what gives?
Screen displays (and natural lighting) can affect how colours appear. We obsess over accurate tones, but slight variations may occur. The real-life version? Still stunning.
Do these make a good hostess gift?
Honestly? An excellent one. Thoughtful, practical, and design-snob-approved. Just don’t be surprised if they ask where you got them.
Care Instructions
How do I wash them?
Cold wash with like colours. Tumble dry low or air dry. No fabric softener (it messes with absorbency). No stress — just simple care.
Anything I shouldn’t do with them?
Yes. Please don’t iron them, use them as oven mitts, or store them next to musty old dish towels. They’re odour-resistant — not miracle workers.
Do they shrink or lose absorbency?
Nope. Disch towels are made to keep their shape and performance wash after wash. They’re built for everyday use, not short-term show.
How long will they last?
With proper care? Ages. These are not one-season towels — they’re designed to outlast the drawer full of disappointments.
